Bengaluru: I will disown my son Kumaraswamy if he forges alliance with BJP – Deve Gowda

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DC)

Bengaluru, May 1: "I will disown my son Kumaraswamy if he forges any alliance with the BJP in the assembly polls," said JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda here on Monday April 30.

Speaking to reporters, Gowda said that at any cost his party would not go ahead with alliance with the BJP.

Earlier on Sunday, Gowda in an interview with national channel said that if such situation arises, then his entire family will boycott Kumaraswamy. "I will disown him," he said.

He reiterated the same on Monday and asked what was wrong in his statement that he would disown his son if he forges alliance with the BJP. "JD(S) will form government on its own. If there is a fractured mandate, we will sit in the opposition," he added.

He also lashed out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for repeatedly alleging that the JD(S) had forged an alliance with the BJP.

"If a lie is repeated 100 times, then people will start believing it to be the truth. This is nothing but dirty politics," he said.

He further said that Siddaramaiah was making such statements since Congress president Rahul Gandhi called JD(S) as BJP's B team during his visit to Hassan.

Don't believe this Father-Son drama. Father says one thing and Son says something else if you know their history. They are trying to give the impression in public of not having an alliance with the BJP post poll because then some of the muslims who traditionally vote for the JDS in Karnataka assembly elections may vote for the Congress party instead. Therefore this drama.

What does it matter if you disown him if you are not able to stop him from allying with the BJP later ? Kumaraswamy anyway does not follow everything you tell him. He makes his own decisions. Further he is opportunistic and greedy for power. Woh sirf naam ke vaaste apne aap ko 'secular' kehte hai. Finally politicians words cannot be trusted. Today he will say "I disown him", tomorrow he will say he is my own blood how can I disown him ?
Enough of JDS naatak. Voting for JDS is just same as voting for BJP.

Kumaraswamy will anyway set himself aside when its time to decide about who will be a CM. Because its time for Revanna to be CM this time as per your family's internal arrangement because you and Kumaraswamy have enjoyed the privilege already. Your 'deserting' heroic is just for public sympathy !

Good that the state comprises of the voters from other regions too, not just from your territory.
