Sep 8: Monthi fest was celebrated with grandeur in Arva Church. Hundreds of Christians were present. Ward Gurkars brought the paddy corns from the fields. These new corns were blessed at the Entrance Gate of the Church. Then people came in procession carrying the blessed corns, offering flowers and singing the Marian hymns. Procession was followed by the Eucharistic celebration. Parish Priest, Fr. Arun Lobo presided over the whole ceremony and hundreds of people and children participated in it.

The speciality of the day was ‘Roce’ and the sugarcane. ‘Roce’ with the blesssed corns and sugarcanes were distributed to everyone. People enjoyed the feeling of belongingness to the single parish family. Thus the Monthi fest saw its due importance and meaning at Arva.
