Doha, May 28: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of Embassy of India recently organized a felicitation ceremony for the participants, volunteers and winners of essay competition for the recently conducted Bharat Utsav 'A Journey through Festive Celebrations of India'.

At the event, ICC also felicitated the volunteers of ICC blood donation drive and ICC Mangalayaan Ambassador Rolling Trophy Competition 2018.

ICC president Milan Arun welcomed the gathering and appreciated the participants and community for their support to the ICC events.

Pioneers of voluntary services in Qatar from Indian community, K M Varghese - IBPC president, Nilangshu Dey - ISC president and P N Baburajan - ICBF vice president were the guests of honor and addressed the gathering.

Head of cultural association - ICC Vishal Mehta conducted the felicitation ceremony. Guests of honor and ICC president and managing committee members gave away the felicitation certificates and plaques to the cultural show participants, volunteers and essay competition winners.

The event began with songs by singers Prasad Deshmukh and Ashwini Parakhi, which enthralled the audience and ended with dinner for all the participants. The event was held before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.

ICC general secretary Juttas Paul conducted the programme and head of education - ICC Dr Nayana Wagh proposed the vote of thanks.
