Beltangady: Film director Santosh Shetty meets watery grave at Ermai falls

Beltangady, May 30: A film director who had been to Ermai falls here for a photoshoot with a team lost his life on Wednesday May 30 after he slipped and fell into the water.

Santhosh Shetty Kateel, director of 'Kanasu - Kannu Teredaga' film had been to the falls which is in Ujire, Beltangady with three others for a photoshoot. Following heavy rains the film director slipped and met a watery grave at the waterfalls.

The body was removed with the help of fire brigade and the police.

Unexpectedly heavy downpour coupled with lightning and strong winds which were experienced in coastal Karnataka between Monday night and Tuesday evening have left behind a trail of deaths and devastation especially in DK and Udupi districts. Apart from Santosh Shetty's death, four others have lost their lives so far.
