Mangalore, Sep 16: Two Members of Karnataka Missions Network which has been organizing New Life sessions, Ivan Monteiro and Philip Jesudas, have provided point-by-point clarification for the allegations levelled against the organization at a press conference, by Bajrang Dal state convenor Mahendra Kumar and regional president of Vishwa Hindyu Parishat Prof M B Puranik.
Relating to the allegation that the organization aims at converting people of other religions into Christianity, they said, that achieving religious conversions has never been its purpose. They added, that they have never converted innocent people as charged and also refuted the allegation that they create public nuisance through microphones and meetings at night.
They have squarely denied that their organization lures people to attend its sessions and claimed that Hindus attend such meetings to learn about Christian philosophy. In response to the charge that their organization distributes books that show Hindu Gods and beliefs in bad taste and that the Hindu outfits have proof for the same, the duo said that they have never distributed such books.
The organization has been charged with defrauding innocents and poor in various ways. The two sought to negate the allegation, by saying that some patients who got cured after participating in their sessions, would have changed their faith. They further stated, that they never indulge in slanderous campaign against other religions. Rejecting the allegation that the organization receives huge sums of money from abroad, the members said, that they collect funds through donations. To the warning that the Hindu outfits will not henceforth tolerate attempts of religious conversions, they asserted their determination to continue to serve the Lord and religion as before.
