Police on lookout for foreigner 'who had sex in public'

Mumbai, Jun 13 (DC) : After a video of a couple getting intimate in full public view at Marine Drive here went viral on Friday, the police has approached the Foreigners Regional Registration Office to figure out the identity of the man, a foreigner, who is yet to be traced.

The police, after questioning the woman — who was later sent to the Mahila Suraksha Kendra in Chembur — claimed that she was mentally unstable as she made contradictory statements.

The couple grabbed eyeballs on Thursday evening as they were standing on a road divider between the Air India Building and Marine Hotel Plaza at Nariman Point in south Mumbai’s posh Marine Drive area. Though the police control room, which was informed of the act, rushed a mobile van to the spot, the man managed to escape, while the woman was taken into the custody for questioning. A source said the woman first said she was from Goa and after that kept changing her statements claiming that she is from Russia and Geneva, whereas she looks like an Indian. When questioned her about the objectionable act in which she and the man were engaged, she said that they were ‘just kissing’.

“From the details obtained from the woman, her partner is a Russian national,” Vilas Gangawane, senior police inspector, said.
