Beltangady: Veerendra Heggade Turns 60 - People to Celebrate on November 14

Beltangady, Sep 25: The citizens of Dharmasthala, in association with the staff members of Dharmasthala temple and other institutions, have decided to celebrate the 60th birth day celebrations of Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade on November 14, 2008 at Dharmasthala.
Although Heggade will be completing 60 years on November 25, considering that thousands of people will visit him that day to wish him, the celebrations will be held a few days earlier. A committee for the purpose has been formed with the manager of the Dharmasthala Beedu office N R Udupa as its president and Dharmasthala Rural Development Project executive director Dr L H Manjunath as working president.
On that day, an exhibition of photographs depicting the way Heggade has grown in stature since his childhood and memorable events of his life will be organized. As it also happens to the 'Children's' Day', a special programme for the children will be held. At 4 pm, Dr Heggade will be led in a grand procession to Amruthavarshini Hall, where the felicitation programme will begin at 6 pm.
Release of a calendar with Heggade's portrait, will be released and distributed on the same day.
Dr Heggade has earned tremendous respect and popularity from people belonging to all classes of the society from all over the country and abroad, because of his balanced approach and admirable qualities. The way he has taken Dharmasthala to great heights after taking over reins at a very young age and the welfare of the people from weaker classes he has achieved because his great concern for them, through the activities of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, have earned him a large fan following. The RUDSET institute set up at Dharmasthala, where trainers from all over the country are trained to lead people towards self employment, has been hailed as a model by high ranking persons including several chief ministers and central leaders.
