Peter,May be i am wrong. I do not have much experience in singing and music. However Pls recollect that the judges itself informed the audience that the competition was very tough as all have sang well and they had difficulty in giving away the marks. Also one should understand that the judges will award the marks based on that particular day how you perform and not because of that if a person very famous in singing or having previous achivement.

As mentioned by JM in his comments, the Judges were from Dubai who are skilled musicians and well known singers. Indeed! To clarify the doubt & concern which was raised by JP in these comments below, I would like to add that - the judges whom MCCP had invited to adjudicate the just finished singing competition, were also the judges in Dubai for their Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM) competition & their regular annual singing competition which was held very recently. Here I want to make a special mention that if these judges were not competent or skilled enough, then the Organisers of Dubai would not have sletced one of them as judges for their own prestigious GVOM & annual singing competitions.

Dear JP. There is no point in blaming the floor if you do not know how to dance. Please note that the judges for this event came from dubai are skilled musicians and well known singers. Don't blame the judges also don't be upset if any child does not get the prize, rather motivate the child to peform better next time.

Kudos to these amazing singers-Deborah Frank, Hilda Fernandes, Nirmala Goveas, Joachim D’Souza, Anitha Lobo, Dolphy Vaz, Austin Monteiro, Flavia Castelino, Victoria Soares, Dilip Correa, Ivan Moras and Vincent D'Souza who qualified for the Gulf Voice of Mangalore Semi-Finals. Hearty congrats to you guys... you well deserve this great honour. Whilst going through the wonderful coverage/photographs, those great Muscat memories started gushing back. At this juncture we fondly remember the Nightingale of Muscat Jane Ida Pinto who was deprived of participating in this unique event due to her family committment. Hats off to MCCP President Clarence Kaikamba & the entire Executive Committee for organizing this incredible event in a professional way. Great going MCCP! Keep it up!!
