Udupi: MIT Student Drowns in Swarna River

Udupi, Oct 3: A student, who wanted to spend the holiday by swimming in the river water, drowned in river Swarna at Manipal near here on Thursday October 2.

Shilpi Reddy (18), a first year engineering student of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), who was a native of Andhra Pradesh, had gone to swim in Swarna river along with a few of his friends. However, was caught in a whirlpool and drowned.

Manipal police have registered a case in this regard.
