Bantwal, Jul 29: Some students of a school fought with each other on Saturday July 28. In this incident, one of the students suffered serious injuries and was admitted into hospital.
The injured student was Abhishek (13), an eighth standard student of a private educational institution near Vamadapadav in the taluk. Abhishek's condition was stated to be serious. He is being treated in the intensive care unit of a private hospital at Mangaluru, it is gathered.
It is said that at the time the school time was over on Saturday afternoon, friction arose between Abhishek and two students of his class on a silly matter. It is said that after this, the two students together attacked Abhishek. Abhishek, who looked pale as if all his energy had drained away, was taken by other students to his grandfather's residence nearby. The students had brought this issue to the attention of teachers, who referred the student to a local medical practitioner. Abhishek, whose condition turned serious by then, was admitted into a private hospital at Thumbay and then into a private hospital at Mangaluru as he was found to be in need of high level treatment. Parents of the student said that he is being looked after in the intensive care unit of the hospital and that he is out of danger now.
Mother of Abhishek, Bharati, filed complaint in Punjalkatte police station about the incident. The station house officer summoned parents of the students and head of the school management committee and gathered details from them.
Punjalkatte station house officer said that no case was registered relating to this incident.
