Moodbidri, Jul 29: A complaint stands filed with Mangaluru city police commissioner against a person who has opened a fake Facebook account in the name of Ibrahim Khaleel from Murali village in Sullia taluk, who reportedly has been indulging in personal vilification campaign and passing profane remarks about religion.
It is said that the accused has threatened Latif from Moodbidri, who has filed the said complaint, of inflicting more problems if the complaint is not withdrawn. In addition to Latif, some more have complained to the police, accusing the person of writing sacrilegious posts about Islam in different accounts.
Ibrahim Khaleel, currently living in Saudi Arabia, has opened several Facebook accounts in the names of Hindus and Muslims through which he has been posting material that are communally provocative . Not only the local police station, but also several other stations including the cyber crime station have received complaints about the said person.
The Mangaluru city police commissioner has promised to take speedy action against the concerned. It is said that the cyber crime police have identified the fake accounts opened by the said person and that the police are keeping a close watch on his activities.
