Bengaluru, Aug 1: After much dilly-dallying, delay and calculations, the coalition government in Karnataka finally came out with the list of new district in-charge ministers on Tuesday July 31. Both the parties believe that appointment of district in-charge ministers will help them in building the party to face Lok Sabha election. This list had come out long back, but now it has got official approval with minor changes.
U T Khader is the in-charge minister for Dakshina Kannada and Dr Jayamala has been in-charge for Udupi.
As expected, Hassan district has been allotted to H D Revanna. Although JD(S) ministers, D C Thammanna and Puttaraju were keen on becoming in-charge minister for Mandya, the seat was given to Puttaraju as Thammanna is a relative of top leadership of JD(S) and the party wanted to escape from getting defamed for giving the seat to a relative.
