Panaji, Oct 15: The German consulate has appealed Goa government not to compromise the security of German researcher and her minor daughter who had accused high profile state minister's son of rape.
"I would be most greatful if you could ensure that criminal investigation is pursued vigorously and that the safety of (Fadela) Fuchs and her daughter not compromised," Consul General of the federal Republic of Germany Walter Stechel has said.
The consul General on Tuesday has written letter to the state chief secretary J P Singh.
The letter which came on the day when police were scouting for 21 year old Rohit, son of Goa Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte, who is accused by German mother of raping her minor daughter in Goa.
"Consul General have been seized of the matter and we have been following the case with great concern," it reads.
Fuchs, who had lodged a complaint with Calangute police station on October 2, had also informed the consulate about the incident. The police after delaying to act on the complaint finally on Tuesday evening had booked Rohit of raping, outraging modesty, abetting the crime and sending lewd messages to minor German girl.
The police had also charged Monserratte of abetting the crime as the mobile phone connection used by rohit is in the name of his father.
Police had not managed to nab Rohit despite the searches conducted on the bunglows owned by the Monserrattes.
