Panaji, Oct 16: State Education Minister Atanasio Monserratte today accused home minister Ravi Naik for targeting him in the German girl rape case.
"I dont know why. The Home Minister is targeting me and my family. The rest of MLAs should realise that today it is my family and tomorrow it can be them," Monserratte told reporters at his residence this evening.
Monserratte's elder son, Rohit has been booked for raping a minor German girl. The Minister is also charged in the case as Rohit had used his cell to send messages to 14 year old minor German girl.
The minister said that the attempts are being made to target his family as they had demanded inquiry by central bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the incident wherein his house was berseked and family attacked by the police.
Monserratte said that he has briefed the Chief Minister about the happening in which his elder son is falsely framed in the offence.
The Minister confirmed that his wife, Jennifer, has been summoned by the Calangute police to remain present.
German researcher who had lodged complaint against Rohit on October 2 had claimed that Jeniffer along with two others had come to her place with the request to withdraw the case.
Jeniffer today speaking to the press refused that she ever visited German lady's house and blamed media for hyping the complaint as the complainant is a foreigner.
The mother also said that Rohit has been missing from the house since last one week and he is not traceable. "I dont know where is he.. My children are scared of police and this time he has been falsely implicated in the case," Jeniffer said.
Pointing out that the victim girl has refused for medical examination, Jeniffer, who was flocked by her lawyer Radharao Gracias, said that the rape case against anyone cannot be established untill it is medically proved.
"The girl is not willing to depose before the police or even go for medical examination. How can they say that she is raped. Just an accusation dont work," she argued.
The police earlier in the day had confirmed that the girl was unwilling to cooperate with the investigating agency and efforts are on to convince her to depose.
