Kuwait, Oct 16: The much-talked about singing competition, Gulf Voice of Mangalore, has reached its final stage, and all ten contestants are already stationed in Kuwait to prepare for the final singing war.
Those who missed the flight to Kuwait, and are eagerly following the show, will get updates from the spot, on daijiworld.com.
The final will commence at the American School at 4.30 pm sharp, and spot updates on daijiworld will commence from 5.00 pm Kuwait time (7.30pm, Indian Standard Time). The updates will include instant pictures and commentary.
The tickets for the show have already been sold out, and the organisers are trying hard to create more space. The event will rewrite history in Konkani music, as it will create a new superstar in the arena of Konkani music in the gulf region.
According to Leslie Rego, who happens to be the compere of all the events as well as co-ordinator of the event, at least 100 delegates from UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain are expected to witness the finals, to cheer their favourite singers.
In the finals, there will be two rounds of contests, and only five will qualify for the second round, after all the ten contestants display their singing talent in the first round.
Jerry Rasquinha, renowed comedian from Mangalore, will create laugh riots among the audience along with his team, after the first break. Wilfy, Melvyn Peris and Meena Rebimbus will also perform melodious songs after the contest, but before the declaration of the results.
The event organiser Young Recreation Centre's cheif Lawrence Pinto, while speaking to daijiworld said, that they never expected such a tremendous response before the start of the event. "We are happy that we have already created Konkani singing stars in the Gulf and will create a super star on Friday in a professional manner," he asserted.
