Mangalore: Grace Pinto Bags Prestigious Pingara Rajyotsava Award-2008

Mangalore, Oct 30: Renowned educationist and director of Ryan International Schools Grace Pinto has bagged the prestigious Pingara Kannada weekly's fourth 'Pingara Rajyotsava Award' for the year 2008.
Speaking to media persons at the press meet here on Thursday October 30, Raymond D'Cunha, editor of the journal announced the nomination of Grace Pinto for the award in recognition of her contribution to the education arena. He said that the award will be presented at a glittering function to be held at Town Hall here on November 11.
Jyothi BS, superior general of Bethany Congregation will present the award, while Dr M Mohan Alva, president, Alva's Education Trust and a Pingara Awardee himself and MLA K Abhaychandra Jain will be the chief guests. Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of Dakshina Kannada chapter of Kannada Sahitya Parisat will preside over the function. Sri Eisha Vithaladas Swamiji of Kemar Sandhipani Sadhanashram will also be present on the occasion.
Grace Pinto, hailing from Bajpe Padu Ferar village has several national and international awards such as National Seva Sanman, Rajiv Gandhi Award for education, Inspiring Achiever Award, Vikasa Ratna Shiromani Award, India with Difference Award etc in her kitty.
This is for the fourth consecutive year that Pingara has been presenting Rajyotsava award. While the inaugural award was presented to well-know journalist Dayanand Pai of Kannada Prabha in 2005, Dr Mohan Alva, director of Alva's Education Foundation had won the same award in the year 2006. Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld.com was the recipient of Pingara award in the year 2007.
