Muscat: MCCP Annual Cricket Tournament on Nov 7

Muscat, Nov 5: The Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish ( MCCP – Sts Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi) will be organizing the Annual Cricket Tournament on Friday, 7th November 2008 at Muscat Sports Club Grounds, Al Wadi Al Kabir. This is the advanced date and new venue announced by the MCCP officials,
Samuel D’ Silva, main coordinator for Sports and Finance committee informed daijiworld team that the registration will begin at 10.00 a.m. and inauguration of the tournament will be at 10.30 a.m. sharp. Hence, he has specifically requested all the members to present on time. “We have many prizes to the members for early registration. We are also planning to have many spot prizes to encourage members to come in large numbers and actively participate in the tournament. We are hoping to get a good number of participants this year and it will be a family entertainment for all of us in Muscat.”
Donald Fernandes and Dolly Sequeira, two versatile sports secretaries of MCCP are working relentlessly to plan the tournament. They are supported by Suraj Rebello, Dolly Gomes, Adrian Saldhana, Flavia Menezes, Dolphy Frank, Hazel Dias, Hilda Fernandes, Sunil Mascarenhas, Arun D’ Souza, Alex Aranha, Nirmala Goveas, Valerian Dantis, Louis Pereira, Sharmila D’Silva, Reuben D’Souza, Nora Vaz, Shanti D’Souza, Ruben Castelino, Lancy Lobo, Lancy Sequeira, Dilip Correa, Victor Baptist Pais, Adolphy John Monteiro, Henry Rodrigues, Joachim D’Souza, Irene Fernandes, Clifford Castelino, Jane Castelino, Richard Mascarenhas, Dr. Christopher Dias, Dr. Elvin Concesso, Asha Noronha, Gracy Rego, Sunitha Nazareth, Irene Fernandes, Naveen Mascarenhas and many other members of the community.

Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) is the Main Sponsor all MCCP Cultural and Sports events for the year 2008 - 2009.
There are four categories in the tournament. First, MCCP Youth (Members and children above 10th Standard and below 40 years) : Registration will commence at 10 a.m.
Second, MCCP Veterans (Members above 41 years) : Registration will commence at 12 noon.
Third, MCCP Ladies (Members and children above 10th Standard) : Registration will commence at 2.30 p.m.
Fourth, MCCP Children (Below 9th Standard) : Registration will commence at 2.30 p.m.
