M'lore: J M Garg Takes Over as New Chairman and  Managing Director of Corp Bank

Mangalore, Nov 8: J M Garg took over charge as the new chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank at its head office here on Friday November 7.  Prior to this appointment, he was serving Punjab National Bank in the capacity of its executive director.

Garg is a post-gruaduate in  physics and an associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He started his career as a probationery officer in  Indian Bank. Garg is backed by 35 years of rich experience in industrial finance, corporate finance,  foreign exchange, development and marketting of new projects and human resource development.

The new chairman worked as bank manager for 14 years before working as regional and zonal manager. He has worked, as the general manager of Indian Bank, in Chennai, Delhi Circle and singapore. He had been a nominated director in the boards of directors of several companies and is presently a member of the pay revision co-ordination committee formed by Indian Banks Association.
