Dubai: Mangalore Konkans to Organize 'Konkani Family Contest' on Turning Twenty

Dubai, Nov 9: As published earlier on daijiworld columns, Mangalore Konkans are gearing-up for their 20th Anniversary on November 28, 2008. The event will be hosted at Al Nasr Leasureland.
As a part of the 20th anniversary, Mangalore Konkans have decided to promote Konkani families with tradition, culture and family values.
It will be big opportunity for all those Konkani families residing in the UAE to participate in exciting contest to be held on the same day.
It is a simple contest for the entire family. With good presentation skills and rich Konkani vocabulary, entire family can take home exciting prizes. On the other hand the winning families also have an opportunity to become 'world famous' instantly.

Objective : To promote Family Values and to encourage Konkani Language & Culture in the UAE.
This title will be won by the best family that possesses the following;
- Residing in the UAE
- Speaks fluent Konkani language
- Follows good family values and promotes Konkani tradition & culture in the family
- Father, Mother and at least one child below the age of 18 years
- Confidence to face the audience and the MC’s questions in Konkani (including children)
Criteria for judging:
- Presentation
- Confidence
- Command over Konkani language
- Family values (Example: Good communication & interaction, Caring & Sharing, Concern, respect for
each other among the family members etc.)

Registration will close on 18th November 2008. If necessary, the organizers will conduct elimination round and the selected families will be eligible to compete on the day of the program.
