Mangalore: Educated People Should Fight Anti-social Elements - Bishop

Mangalore, Nov 9: Some elements are engaged in disturbing the peace and harmony in the society. All educated people should join to fight against these elements which are a danger to the fraternity and unity of the nation, said Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore.
Speaking at the valedictory of the diamond jubilee of Bethany Education Society on Sunday November 9, he said that the church has taken up the responsibility of integral development of the human being, and education is essential for this reason, he opined.
Jesus Christ came to earth to transform human beings. Msgr Mascarenhas, founder of the Bethany congregation, has prepared the ground for the transformation of the entire society, and the Bethany sisters have carried forward this mission, added the Bishop.
He also released the souvenir brought out to mark the diamond jubilee of Bethany Educational Society.
Dr Mahesh Joshy, director, Doordarshan Bangalore, was the chief guest of the occasion. Sr Jyothi, superior general, Bethany congregation, presided over the function. Sr Joy presented the report and Sr Crystella introduced the guests.
