Kaup and Malpe Beach to be Developed as Tourist Destinations: Minister Reddy

Udupi, Nov 10: State minister for tourism Janardhan Reddy, during his visit to Udupi district, on Monday November 10, said that aerodromes will be developed in coastal Karnataka with private partnership, and a six-lane lane highway constructed along the existing national highways passing through coastal district, Goa, and Kerala. Reddy said, heli-tourism will also be initiated to enable tourists from the higher income groups to visit the local tourism hotspots.
Kaup and Malpe beach will be developed as tourist destinations at a cost of Rs 30 crore of which Rs 55 lac has already been released for Kaup and Rs 1.5 lac spent on the Malpe beach road that will be further developed once the zilla panchayat hands over its possession to the tourism department, he assured.
A cable car facility will be set up between St Mary Island and Malpe beach at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore that will bring in a revolution into the state tourism sector, he added. Reddy was accompanied by municipal commissioner Gokuldas Nayak, and tourism department director Shivalingayya.
