Modi government biggest threat to democracy: AAP

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IANS): Calling the Modi government the "biggest threat to democracy and federal structure of India's Constitution", the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused the BJP of "stifling and paralysing elected governments in the country".

"The AAP is of the firm view that the Modi government is the biggest threat to democracy and federal structure of India's Constitution and its falsehoods can no longer fool the people of this country," the party said in a statement.

The AAP was reacting to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's comments that nothing should be done to erode the authority of elected governments.

"The BJP and its ministers have no right to give sermons about the supremacy of elected governments, given their dismal and shameful track record during their almost five-year tenure now on how they have treated elected governments and made a mockery of Constitutional norms," the party said.

It said that it was ironical that Jaitley was delivering a lecture in memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and "advocated all that late Vajpayee was opposed to all through his life".

The party also said the Modi government unsuccessfully tried to dismiss two state governments and "there is not a single non-BJP government in this country which the Modi government has not tried to throttle through most brutal means till now.

"The biggest example of how the Modi regime has tried to stifle and paralyse elected governments in the country is the elected Delhi government."

Jaitley, while delivering the first Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Lecture at the India Ideas Conclave here, had said the country was higher than any institution or government.

Perhaps AAP government in Delhi which elected to power with the full majority is the victim of curtailed 'Democracy' through Lt.Governor's which came to an end thanks to the court verdict.

The tough time for AAP not over yet due to the Lt. Governor's power struggle, again 27 MLA's of the party disqualified for office-of-profit-case with the intervention of President of India.

I would say AAP is the biggest victim of BJP's power struggle with limited autonomy to the state.

Today there is a revolt in Supreme Court, premier investigation agency CBI, Rajya Sabha TV every institution is corrupted.

The RSS political wing BJP has certainly finished the 'Democracy' of this nation.

You forgot the disqualification of 27 MLA was nullified by President who is a RSS man as per your own statement. So no credit for him? Any person can call democratically elected PM by names itself shows under MODI democracy is flourishing. No other proof is required.

    5. Goods transportation fare in the Indian railway has gone up by 10 percentage

    6. polarisation on comunal basis as never heard before

    7. Organised loot and legalised plunder thru a drama called demonisation in which the government expected 30 percentage of the notes will not come back but in reality 99.3 percentage has come back, balance is with royal bank of Nepal, Royal bank of Bhutan and the cooperative banking sector , demonisation left over nothing but hardship of the public and more than 100 lives that where taken away by demonisation

    8. Give me 50 day and if Demonisation is proved wrong I will take whatever punishment you insist, were the words of modi in course of demonisation. Now not a word is uttered on this

    9. 2 percent slash in the GDP amounting to the loss of 3 lakh crores to the nation

From top to bottom BJP is a party of rogues, criminals, murderers and rowdies. On top of this BJP is giving shelter and recruiting tainted and sacked ministers from other parties due to criminal activities and criminal background. It doesn't make sense for BJP to accuse its opponents of corruption and crime and has no moral right to allege. Closing your eyes and drinking milk like cat doesn't make you innocent and pure like milk.
