Udupi,Nov 16: ‘Jagruti Ota’, an awareness run for the public, and vehicle users, was organized as part of ‘pollution control month’, organized by Manipal Lions and Lioness Clubs here on Sunday November 16.

MLA Raghupathy Bhat inaugurated the event. Basavarajappa, district governor, Lions Club, deputy commissioner (DC) Hemalata P, Santhosh Kumar Hejamady, president, Manipal Lions Club, Gokuldas Nayak, project director, Udupi Urban Development Authority, and Dr Dayanand Nayak, district surgeon, were present on the occasion.
















Omkareshwari, Udupi Regional Transport officer, welcomed the gathering.

The run began from the Tiger Circle and went past Syndicate Circle, Indrali, Kadiyali, city bus stop, service bus stop, K M Marg, Syndicate Tower via Kittur Chennamma Road, and concluded at Ajjarakad Town Hall.

The first place was secured by Vijendra Atradi, Madhaga, while Sharat Kumar, Madhaga, and Sampath Kumar, student, Manipal Junior College, bagged the second and third places, respectively. A huge number of people participated in the event.
