Its time to awake. As PM of India rightly said police force need reforms. Once they learn their fundamentals there will be a hope. Mangalore was a beautiful place to live. It is a communally divided place now. Please try to restore the peace and harmony.

Mr. Kiran Acharya, Udupi- I guess you have completely missed out my point. The visual evidence itself should  reflect the inhuman behavior of our police force . It was not a  great achievement beating up young children, ladies, nuns,  and elder citizens using the guise of maintaining peace…???

Kiran good observation and Acharya good observation too.  One thing that stands clear is that the police showed disrespect to  God and People when  they stormed the churches and started beating people who were actually spending time in prayer. There were some elderly people reciting the rosary ( christian bead prayers)  who were  man-handled and lathi charged.   Who gave the police the tip off ? Was the caller ever identified or was the call traced ? And  now we have just heard the bitter truth of the  Malegaon blasts.  Need I say more.   May God rebuke the evil-doers.

Kiran Mangalore/ Sathyam Muscat Please do not comment for the sake of commenting. I have not noticed anyone removing their footwear while entering even the holiest of churches...(also notice chappals worn by people coming out of churches in this post (if you need visual evidence) http://www.daijiworld.com/news/news_disp.asp?n_id=51210&n_tit=Mangalore%3A Situation Turns Violent at Kulshekar%2C Vamanjoor %3A Police Cane Mob)

This is what happens when you manage the state with religious agenda. The state government must learn the lesson and change their attitude. Provide peace and justice to every citizen and don't create criminals in Karnataka.

I am really surprised to see the police force respecting the holy places by removing their foot wear.......in spite  of the  emergency! But this decent behavior was not practiced by them during the recent communal riots in Mangalore!!!

Its a shocking news. But the "SHOCK" is only for a day or two and then everything is forgotten till the next call!! I am just worried about our system cause no measures are taken at any religious places to curb such acts. I agree its not an easy job to monitor each and every one as there are thousands of devotees in temples/churches/mosques... But how much is the administration doing to protect the place? why cant they have some security devices installed? monitors fixed to observe the movement of people in the temples? God has to protect himself as well as his people...

It is not Mangalore has become dangerous city in South Canara. It is South Canara become dangerous place in Karnataka. This phenomena is the result of the divisive, hatred ideology spread by fanatic groups over 30 years. Even though this is sad but it is the truth. Selfish individuals and groups for their own recognition and identity divided the community in the name of religion, belief etc. Today the community is reaping what has been sowed by these unscrupulous group. The only solution is ban all religious activities, religious celebrations, religious processions etc. Let religion be within the 4 walls. All religion place of worship should not have loud speakers system. Only silence prayers should be allowed so that people will live in peace and harmony. Religion should not become non sense to the community.

Strange that calls coming into the police control room cannot be traced quickly. More deliberate attempts to disturb peace and create unnecessary trouble.
