Mangalore: Human Errors Cause Most Accidents in Industries—Dr Godfrey Mendes

Mangalore, Nov 23: In a majority of cases, human errors are responsible for 98 percent of accidents in factories and industries, opined Dr Godfrey Mendes, president,
Western Institute of Technology, on Saturday November 22.
Dr Mendes was speaking at a discussion programme between the management executives of the institute and National Institute of Personal Management, Mangalore chapter. Industries and enterprises can cut down overheads through efficient safety measures, added Dr Mendes.
He also explained the training courses offered by Western Institute of Technology on internationally-acclaimed health and safety measures in industries. Dr Mendes is the head of student welfare of New York Institute and also serves as advisor for several industries in the Gulf countries.
P A Jose, president, National Institute of Personal Management, Mangalore chapter, presided over the programme. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Indian industries welcome the courses designed by Western Institute of Technology, that are well-defined and proven for successful functioning of industries here.
Andre Van Der Hogan, eminent expert from South Africa, shared his experience on safety measures incorporated in various industries across the globe. Open discussions were held with experts of various industries on the occasion.
Representatives of MRPL, MCF, BASF, KIOCA, Nandi Natural Plates, Nitte University, Besant College Post Graduate department, M V Shetty Institute, St Aloysius College, and other enterprises, attended the seminar. Corporate relations manger Mitali Rai welcomed the gathering.
