Beltangady, Nov 25: It looks as if sun never sets in Dharmasthala these days. Even right in the midnight, the pilgrimage town of Dharmasthala looks as bright as mid afternoon. Roads leading to the town that usually wear deserted look by dusk, are abuzz with activities now. Devotees are thronging in lacs to visit the holy pilgrimage centre on the auspicious occasion of Laskhadeepotsava.
On the second day of the Lakshadeepotsava on Monday November 25, the number of devotees who visited the town increased by leaps and bounds. While some of the devotees who have arrived from far off places have camped in the town itself, a few more are paying a flying visit to savour the beauty of the town which is decked with colourful decoration and bright lights. Shri Manjunatha Swami temple, Heggade beedu, main entrance arch, lanes winding through the town, lodges etc are shining with bright lights. Even the local shopkeepers are having spring time as their business has shot up with the arrival of devotees and visitors. The splendour of Lakshadeepotsava has really added grandeur to the ever-busy Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala.
The orchestra presented by M P Raj troupe from Bhadravati at the Shri Manjunatheshwara high school grounds on Monday night was indeed a memorable event. Devotees and visitors were in for a gala time of entertainment with splendid magic show by Bangalore-based Raksha Nayak and Bharatnatyam by Radhika Ramanujam.
