Modi lying over OROP: Ex-Servicemen

Jaipur, Dec 3 (IANS): A group of retired Army officials on Monday accused the Modi government of spreading lies over the One Rank One Pension (OROP) issue.

Addressing the media, Major General Satbir Singh, Chairman of the Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement and advisor to the United Front of Ex-Servicemen, along with Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Congress spokesperson, accused Modi of lying.

"While pension of Army men has been increased, the issues pertaining to OROP are still pending," he said.

"Modi has been lying in his election speeches about fulfilling all the demands on OROP. However, the grave reality is that the soldiers are still fighting for their rights," he said.

He said the Manmohan Singh government had on February 17, 2014 promised to bring in OROP but the Modi government was yet to fulfil this promise.

The press conference was also addressed by retired Group Captain V.K. Gandhi who accused the Modi government of politicizing the surgical strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan and thus disrespecting the Indian Army.

Surgical strikes have been happening earlier too "but the Modi government is politicizing this", he said.

What does the political "Capt" from the coastal area have to say on the matter?

This "Capt" claims to have served in the army, but exactly how many years he spent in the army and where is not clarified.

BTW, the minimum tenure in the army is 10 years. The "Capt" claims to have served for about five years.

In 70 years of Independant Indian history no serviceman has accused, degraded and disgraced a PM like this. If a country's head is not loyal to his own army then what can you expect from the army????? No wonder he was running to Pakistan uninvited unofficially to be with his terrorist friends as his own party men are advising this treatment those who betray the country. Faithful to Unfaithfuls.

Congress is paying heavily to hire such people and trying every trick in the book as we approach the 2019 elections. But people of our country were clever in the past and will be more clever after experiencing the corruption free governance of this Govt and does not give a chance to corrupt Congress to come back to power.
