Mangaluru, Dec 4: First year engineering students of Srinivas Institute of Technology held a day long ‘Abhiyana 2018’ programme of technological and cultural competitions.

Sri Ramakunjeshwar Pre-University College principal, Professor Sathish Bhat inaugurated the programme. He reminded the students of the huge responsibility of developing a civilized society and urged them to take it to higher levels.

College principal Dr Srinivas Mayya D, who chaired the programme explained how programmes such as these help in the all round development of students.

Programme organizer Dr Gopalakrishna Bhat welcomed the guests. Dr Chadrashekar K G introduced them. The programme started with prayer by Poorvi Kulkarni. Professor Ramya thanked everyone.

The students actively took part in drawing, nayansiya (knowledge is your power), wax modeling, mind spark, Eureka, patriotic songs, dress designs using newspaper, fireless cooking, dances and other activities. More than 60 lecturers from pre university colleges invited to the programme commended the multiple talents of the students. Lecturer Amitha compered the programme.
