Dubai, Dec 3: MOGAVEERS  UAE , CONDUCTED THEIR FIRST  SPORTS DAY ON 28TH  November 2008  at  Zabeel Park .

The event started with Prayer and a minute of silence as homage to the departed souls in the terrorist attack in Mumbai recently.

Later the Manjappa Kunder one of the senior member of  the  Mogaveer’s UAE committee had the honor of  cutting the ribbon and releasing the Balloon  and declaring the Sport Day Game open along with Lokesh Puthran (President), Chandrashekar Salian and Harish Amin (Advisors).

Lokesh Puthran  reminded the audience the vision  of forming Mogaveers UAE and the goal  of helping   community  people back in Mangalore  in terms of finance for Education , Medical and help to the needy .

Chandrashekar  Salian while addressing,  recollected with satisfaction  the first ever meeting of Mogaveers   UAE  held exactly one year  back  in the same venue after continued 4 years steady efforts  in mobilizing  members.. He thanked all members and their families for their continued   support, mutual co-operation and enthusiastic participation in making all the events  held throughout the year  a grand success  in every respects   and sought similar participation  in future..

The event started with  Track events  for different age group  for children  starting from  Children  below  5 years ,  Children’s below 12 year , Children  between 13 – 16 years ,and adults 17 to 35 years and 35 years and above .

All the members shown lots of interest and participated enthusiastically in all the Track events.  

Following the Track events, there were games for children and Lemon & Spoon for Ladies and also Couple races,

The Highlights of the evening was Human wheels race which was participated by all the male members.

Puthran gave a closing speech and informed about the next program of  Mogaveers UAE, the annual function which will be conducted on Friday the 6th February,2009 at Sheraton Deira( Al Muteena Road).He requested the members to attend in large numbers and requested to inform about event to other Mogaveera community.

General Secretary Yadava L.Kotian thanked all the members for attending the function in Sports day in large numbers.
