Kohima, Dec 6 (IANS): A peace rally was held in this mountainous state capital of Nagaland on Thursday commemorating the Battle of Kohima during World War II.
The rally, organised by Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA), was flagged off at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, and culminated at the Kisama heritage village.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said that the main objective of the rally was to promote peace.
"World War II has left an indelible mark in the history of Nagas as many soldiers and also innocent villagers lost their precious lives," Rio said.
