Bahrain: Konkan Singers celebrate Annual Day

Bahrain, Dec 8: Members of the Konkan Singers Club, Bahrain celebrated the Feast of their Patron, Saint Cecilia with a mass at Sacred Heart Church on the 22nd November and 31st Annual Day on Friday, 28th November 2008 at the Baan Saeng Thai Restaurant Adliya.

The function started at 12.00 noon with a warm welcome extended by Ozwald D’Souza. The President Henry D’Almeida in his speech congratulated all the members on the occasion and thanked the sponsors, co-sponsors and all those who helped the club in organizing the function and who offered their helping hand during the year.
Members’ children showed their talent and entertained by presenting cultural dances. Shawn Alva, Sheldon Correra, Edlin & Ashlyn Alva, Amanda Dourado, Eunice D’Souza & Stevisha Fernandes took part in the dances.








 

Highlight of the function was the “Best Dressed Lady” competition arranged for ladies over 18 years of age. 12 ladies took part in the competition which was won by Ms. Sara Sequeira who took away a Bahrain-Mumbai-Bahrain air ticket courtesy Jet Airways and a Roamer ladies watch courtesy Bahrain Jewellery Center. First runner up was Ms. Pamela Kamath who took away Roamer ladies watch donated by Bahrain Jewellery center. Second runner up was Ms. Susan Miranda who was presented with air ticket Bahrain-Dubai-Bahrain courtesy Omega Travels.



Attendees danced to the tune of live band ‘Skylark’ who played foot tapping music. Beverages and grand buffet was served to all. About 350 persons attended the function which was compered by Oswald D’Souza supported by Rico Braganza.
