Sharjah: Mayura Award to be Conferred on Dr B K Yusuf

Sharjah, Dec 16: Dr B K Yusuf, philanthropist, and president, Beary Cultural Forum, Dubai, has been chosen for the prestigious Mayura Award instituted by the Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah.

Prabhakar Ambalthere, president, Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah, while conveying the news to daijiworld.com said that Dr Yusuf had been selected for his meritorious service to his community and to Kannadigas spread around the whole of the UAE.

The award will be conferred on him on Friday December 19, at the Kohinoor Hall of the Asia Palace Hotel, Sharjah, during the sixth anniversary of the Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah. The programme will start at 10.00 am.

Kannada cultural events like dance, songs, and other entertainment, will also be part of the function on Friday. J Krishna Palemar, Karnataka state minister of  fisheries and ports, will preside over the programme. Many other prominent community leaders from around the UAE are expected to grace the event

    He should have got it long back as he deserves.Sometime! we take lots of time to understand people and their hardworks.Its really late to recongnize him.     Congratulations to Dr.BK Yusuf. Thanks to Sharjah Karnataka Sangha,who by honouring Dr.Yusuf with Mayura Award, has infact is honouring the entire Kannada Community in UAE, because,.Dr. Yusuf, who, since 3 decades,has been in social service field not for the sake of name or fame but for the sake of humanity.He was the president ( for 11 Years)of Dubai Kannada Sangha, and was the president of various organisations like Bearys Cultural Forum, South Canara Muslim Assn., UAE Indian Pharmacutical Assn., was a member of Swiss Business Council in UAE. Cast, Creed or Religion never came in his way and took every Kannadiga on his fold in his social work in UAE. I, as Kanndiga sincerely hope this Mayura Award will be a PRELUDE to Deserving Karnataka Rajyothsawa Award to Dr. Yusuf.
