Krishna Poojary elected president of Billava Sangha Kuwait

Kuwait, Dec 28: The 6th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Billava Sangha Kuwait was held recently, at the Indian Community School, Salmiya (Amman Branch).

The event commenced with Guru Shloka followed by the lighting of lamp by the president Raghu C Poojary and members of management and advisory committee.

President Raghu C Poojary in his welcome speech appreciated all the committee members for working with unity towards the upliftment of the community. Further he felicitated all the committee members with flowers.

General secretary Gautham Suvarna presented the annual report mentioning the activities carried out in the year 2018,while the treasurer Sujeet Amin read out the financial report for the year 2018, both of which were approved by the members. 



Prabhakar Bola spoke about the scholarship programme conducted during the year 2018 and also conducted an awareness programme on carrying of prohibitory medicinal drugs to Kuwait.

Rohith Sanil from the advisory committee delivered a speech on Billava Sangha formation and its members’ unity in participating in all the good cause carried out by the sangha towards the society. He briefed the members on the present status of construction of the Kuppe Panjurli Daivasthana. He also urged the members to participate in the seva for the planned upcoming Kola in Kanthabare-Budhabare kshetra back home in India.

During the AGM, talent show ‘Billavas got Talent’ (solo dance/fancy dress/singing) was held for the members of all age group to bring out the best talent in them in various categories. The competition was fairly judged by the judges Mobina Siju, Vinish Visvambaram and Mahesh P. Polali.

Raghu C Poojary, Rohith Sanil and Chitrek Bangera will be in the advisory committee for the year 2019.

Outgoing president Raghu C Poojary was felicitated with a shawl, platter of fruits and a memento for his contribution towards the association and in his speech, he congratulated the newly elected management Committee members and wished them all the success.

Newly elected president Krishna Poojary addressed the gathering and requested the full cooperation from all the committee members in fulfilling his duties towards the sangha.

The event was gracefully hosted by Sujith Kotian and capably photographed by Sandeep Attavar.

Vote of thanks was given by the newly elected general secretary Raghav Poojary.

The programme concluded with tasty dinner, served by M/s Shreyas Restaurant.
