Bantwal: Police arrest two accused of stealing tar, goods worth Rs 3 lac, truck seized

Bantwal, Dec 28: Bantwal rural police on Friday, December 28, arrested two men accused of stealing tar at Kanchinadka Padavu, Sajipanadu village in November 2017.

The arrested are Ummaruk Farook (24), resident of Nekkiladi, Puttur and Mohammed Ashraf (24) resident of Vitla, Kasba village.

Forty three barrels tar worth Rs three lac has been recovered from them. Police have also seized the lorry used for thefts. Three more accused involved in the thefts are said to be absconding. Police are on the lookout for them.

Police circle inspector T D Nagaraj and Bantwal rural police station sub inspector Prasanna M S, Bantwal town crime division police sub inspector Harish M R, staff Girish, Jayaram, Suresh, Nazeer, Sathish, Adarsh, Basavaraj, Ramzan, Kumar and Vivek took part in the operation.
