Mangaluru, Dec 29: Tulunada Rakshana Vedike will hold 'Taulava Ucchaya (Vishwa Tulu Sammelana)' on February 23 and 24, 2019 at Town Hall in city, on the occasion of the decennial celebration of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, informed founder president of Vedike Yogish Shetty Jeppu.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, December 29, Yogish Shetty said, "Tulunada Rakshana Vedike was started in the year 2009 and we are stepping in to the decennial celebration year. In the two-day event, several programmes such as talks, folk cultural event, book exhibition, art and crafts of Tulu culture, Yakshagana, drama, dance event, programme related to Coastalwood film, youth convention, Taulava award ceremony and also felicitation for achievers will be held,"

"We have decided to invite Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa, minister Dr Jayamala, district in-charge minister U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Tulu thinkers, artists and many such personalities," informed Yogish.

"During this event certain resolutions will be taken such as having separate Mangaluru railway division and many more," said Yogish.

Honourary president of the event Dr David Frank Fernandes said, "It is a privilege to be part of this event as president. Even though live abroad, my love and affection towards Tulu is strong. Earlier we had organised such programme at Badiyadka and at Pilikula in 2017. So this time we are organising at Town Hall on February 23 and 24. These days, children have forgotten the Tulu culture as they are more inclined towards the western culture. I urge people, irrespective of all religions, to take part in this two day event."
