Mangalore: Kevin Misquith Enthralls Native Crowd on Boxing Day

Mangalore, Dec 27: Young Konkani music star Kevin Misquith presented his third Konkani musical nite in his home town Suratkal on the evening of Friday December 26.

The event was organized by the Suratkal Church unit of the  Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), at the church ground.

The show began at around 7 pm with a packed crowd. Vincent Alva, an excellent compere armed with beautiful oratory skills and fluent vocabulary to keep the audience keenly interested, took charge of the event and conducted the entire event in a vibrant manner.

























Young musicians led by Roshan D'Souza Anjelore directed the music. Prakash D'Souza, Prakash Mahadevan, Babitha D'Souza, Primal,Robin Sequeira, Ashwin, Kevin Misquith and others endearingly rendered Kevin's melodious songs. Many of his songs were specially composed for the young hearts with the theme of 'Love'.

Nellu Permannur with his 'Koroz' troupe as usual, presented comedy skits and kept the crowd busy with his rib-tickling jokes.

Naach Sobhann, a leading dance troupe from t he city, supported the show ably, by performing enchanting dances.

Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest of Suratkal, was the chief guest. Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld.com and Pascal Pinto from Kuwait were the guests of honour. ICYM President Preetham Britto, Secretary Preema D'souza.

Fr Antony appreciated Kevin Misquith's talents and encouraged him by extending his valuable support. He reasoned, that the local talents can bloom outside the parish, only when it is first recognized and encouraged at the parish level.

Other guests too spoke high of Kevin and wished him a bright future in his singing career.

Kevin's parents were also caled onto the stage for being introduced to the audience.

Boogie Woogie dance contestants from the parish were also given an opportunity to exhibit their talent.

The show came to an end at around 10.30pm. Kevin Misquith who is just 22, has already presented three Konkani albums and three musical nites.
