M'lore: Nitte VC Dr M Shantharam Shetty Takes Charge as Indian Orthopaedic Association President

Mangalore, Dec 27: Nitte University vice-chancellor Prof (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, who happens to be a very eminent orthopaedic surgeon of Mangalore and is being regarded highly in medical circles all over the country, took charge as the president of the Indian Orthopaedic Association at the Association's annual conference held in Bangalore recently.
Indian Orthopaedic Association has a membership of 7,510 at present, and it is a proud moment for Mangalore city in particular and the people of Dakshina Kannada district as a whole to note that Dr Shetty is the first Kannadiga in the history of the Association spanning over 52 years, to don the Association's mantle.
His theme for the year is 'Disability-free Society' and the orthopaedic surgeons from all over the country will be working for this theme all through this year, towards preventing physical disabilities from occuring and treating the existing disabilities successfully.
