UAE Anivasi Kannadigara Ukkuta representatives meet Prof M V Rajeev Gowda

Media Release

Dubai, Jan 17: Anivasi Kannadigara Ukkuta, UAE representatives visited Congress leader and spokesperson Prof M V Rajeev Gowda, who was on a visit to the UAE, and addressed the issues faced by non-residents Indians in UAE and urged him to provide solutions.

The issues they informed are as below:

1. In case non-resident Indian students go to India for higher education, they should study about 2 to 5 years in India, in the current context. If not, the general quota will be allowed and students have to pay more fees and huge donation, which will be a burden for them. Therefore, please provide alternate solution.

2. If non-resident Indians decide to reside and settle in India, they have difficulty in admitting their children due to compulsory regional language in most of schools and colleges. Therefore for NRI students, concession should be given and national language shall be made mandatory.

3. NRI students are facing higher education issues, such as educational loan is not available for higher education and banks and institutions are asking several documents and records. This should be eased and appropriate steps should be implemented for student friendly loan system and make the system more accessible and provide greater emphasis on all these factors in the forthcoming election manifesto.

Abdul Rasheed Mangalore, president, Anivasi Kannadigara Ukkuta, UAE, Ashraf Ahmad Udupi, Mohammed Akram Saheb (Abu Dhabi Saheban Business Community) Mohammad Samiulla, C A, Gangolli etc were present.
