Mangalore: Bus Rams Student; Stones Pelted

Mangalore, Jan 20: Students pelted stones at a city bus after it hit and injured a student near Kadri. Rajesh, the injured student, was later admitted to hospital. 



An ITI student, Rajesh, was walking towards the bus stop on his way home when the accident occurred.

Students of  ITI who gathered at the accident spot, broke the glasses of the bus. Kadri  police booked  a  case against Ravi, the driver of the bus, for negligent and rash driving.

    Obviously, i think Mr. Sequeira is aware of this wreckless bus drivers. please notice that there are elders and childrens walking in the same pedestrian.

    i personally know this driver Ravi and he is surely not a rash or negligent driver as far as i know this must be his first accident in his life there may be a fault from the pedestrian side too but no one looks to it whenever there is accident the vehicle driver is always blamed and this is the normal tendency of the public

    Kaleel, Come to Bangalore, stay for a week and then comment on this issue. Ask a Bangalorean, native mangalorean about the BMTC service in Bangalore and Private bus service in Mangalore. Then you will come to know. Problem may not be only from bus drivers, Ask the public to be careful while crossing roads, not to stand on the foot board, stay off the road, walk on the foot path etc etc.

    KSRTC is not going to start. The BJP government was " satisfied" after the meeting by the private bus owners and KSRTC has taken a go-slow approach ( rather no-start approach) and is not going to start the City services.This is the situation prevailing now and unless people agitate it will take another decade.

    This is a good step forward. All rash driving buses must be given the same treatment. They must be destroyed. I have seen a lot of accidents and cases of rash driving by private operators which ultimately risk lives.

    Negligent Driving, No Patience, No mercy towards pedestrians, tight time scheduled trips, traffic jam, Concretaisation of roads are major causes of this type of accidents in Mangalore. There is total mess in controlling the traffic. Will the Authorities concerned find a solution for such mishaps? It is the need of the hour. - Machcha, Milaar.
