When she was Commissioner Mangalore city corporation she stood her ground and refused
to approve exhorbitant, inflated ad hoc bills submitted by the corporators as was the practice
in MCC. In no time then Ustuvari and city based MLAS prevailed on Sidharamaiah and got her\
shunted. How long she will survive in Udupi is anybody's guess. All the same let us wish her
    the best .

Welcome to the newly appointed Udupi deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati. Since she hails from 'Basavakalyana' from a place Basavanna a great saint and social reformer I would like to quote one of his famous vachanas, in the Belgaum session of the Indian National Congress in 1924, Mahatma Gandhi spoke about Basavanna.
“Basava’s aim was not to oppose or propose any religious or philosophical system; but to show people the existing social and religious evils and, if possible, to remove these evils from society”.

Though shall not steal nor kill; Not speak a lie; Be angry with no one, Nor scorn another man; Nor glory in thyself; Nor others hold you to blame This is your inward purity; This is your outward purity; This is the way to win our Lord: Kudalasangama Basava

Earn wealth through honest and truthful work-Basava

Basava (twelfth century AD), a Saivite saint of South India was a religious teacher, social reformer, and revolutionary who opposed image worship, rejected the Vedas, and the authority of the priests and instituted complete equality among his followers, even equality for women. He was the founder of the Lingayat sect.

Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, while you were City Commissioner of Mangalore, in 2015, you gave sleepless nights to many political stalwarts who were corrupt and hand in gloves with construction mafia's.

We wish all the best in your new assignment in Udupit as Udupi deputy commissioner.
