Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi(EP)

New Delhi, Feb 12: Professional hackers, who hacked the bank account of BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje in New Delhi, have stolen Rs 20 lac.

The crime happened four days ago and came to light on Tuesday. The money was illegally transferred from the MP’s State bank of India, Delhi Parliament branch.

Side effects of Prime Minister Modi's 'cashless economy'. If Member of Parliament account can be hacked how does Modi government is going to protect the interest of the common citizens of India?

India’s Narendra Modi government has nixed a controversial bill that proposed to allow the use of depositors’ money to rescue distressed banks.

The Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance Bill (FRDI), tabled in parliament in August 2017, had come under fire from the public, bank employees’ union, and industrialists due to this bail-in clause. Critics had dubbed it draconian as bank account holders could be stripped off their life savings.
FRDI(Financial resolution and Deposit Bill)2017 might be a Draconian act if passed by both the houses of Parliament and assented by the president.
    As per the bill,
There shall be an oversight body named RC(Resolution corporation) in lieu of DICGC(Deposit Insurance and credit Guarantee corporation)which was constituted in 1993.
In this bill, RC will take the position of DICGC. Till now DICGC provides deposit insurance of up to 1 lakh.It should be upgraded if RC sets up. Though in this bill ..there is no provision of enhanced deposit insurance.
In India, more than 60% of people have relied on public sector banks. public sector banks also have rural penetration. But seeing the literacy rate in a rural area one can easily predict what will they do with that equities?-nothing. The can't even sell them.. because who will buy the equity of a company whose health is in doldrums state ..whose future is precarious.
So in a single line.. this Bill is quite a farce and buffoonery.
These politicians who massed money from public and deposited in banks have nothing to worry much. Imagine if this 20 lakh hacked from retired staff from his life savings.
This is the reason Indian must first implement a 'Data' protection law. If bank details can be hacked which is more secured with encryption, how does 'Aadhar' Card details are safe?

Through this incident convey the message to Modi Sarkar, how safe is Digital India.
If high profile M.P.'s can be hacked, how common citizens can opt for digital transactions?
First, ensure safety, systems in place, then propogate business for banks, insurance companies, Mobile Service providers, I.T. Cos etc.
An M.P. may afford the loss of 20L or can recover through police help, what about common citizens?

First of all how can it happen thru mobile banking when her mobile has to be with her at all times?
Is it so easy to use her Mobile banking when it has various safety features like OTP, transaction password etc.?
Also even if it really happened, it shouldn't matter to her much, it's just a lesson learnt.

Online banking is not safe in India.

There are people out there who are trying to take advantage of mobile banking to scam you and get access to your money.

Banks will never ask for your mobile banking passwords or log in details by phone, text or email, so any contact you receive asking for this information is likely to be a scam.

If you are suspicious in any respect then contact your bank to check if they have tried to contact you.
