Women do not want equality in every aspect of life: State BJP Mahila Morcha prez

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Feb 12: In a controversial statement, Bharati Shetty, president of BJP Mahila Morcha said that there is no need for women in every aspect of life.

Bharati gave this controversial statement when answering questions from scribes in the city in a press conference.

"Boys drink alcohol in hotels and pubs. We do not want the equality in this matter for ladies saying that we will also drink in a similar manner. We want independence and not freedom. Let that be equality in only those things for women in which there is benefit for the women folk," said Bharathi.

Bharati further said, "Men cannot be equal with us. Likewise, it is not possible for us also to share equality with men. God has already decided as to what is required for which gender in his vision. The result will be as per his wish."

"Let women do not have all the freedom that men have. Personal freedom and religious freedom are different for women. Men drink in pub and restaurants in the night. I do not wish to have such freedom for women," added Bharati.

Bharati concluded by saying, "Women have traditional limits. In every religion, there is a boundary for women. I do not wish to toe that boundary. We oppose the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple. The triple talaaq is bannned in order to solve the family problems of muslim women."

You have not understood the meaning of equality. So its better you remain where you are and let all women have the equality. It does not mean that there is any fights. Both man and woman, can do much good to self and around with good intention. God bless.

With due respect, you have misunderstood the meaning of word “Equality “in the given context. You have construed it in layman’s language.

Even if your given example is taken on its face value then it suggests that all men, who are going to Bar and Pub are only men and rest of those men are not men.

Madam it is matter of once habit, personal choice, values, tradition, cultures, sometimes customs and life style which makes a person to go to Bar & Pub, but a responsible man need not go to bar & pub to prove “superior masculine equality" as you quoted.

Triple Talaq is a separate issue, i personally feel that it is good to bring such social piece legislation to protect the helpless Muslim women, as some of the Muslim men have misused the religious concept & practice of "Triple Talaq". However the intention of the B J P is questioned here, as there are prejudices in the proposed legislation.

There are various bad & unacceptable customs and traditions prevailing and people practising in the Indian society and if you are so concerned about every Indian people, why do not B J P government identify & bring such legislations to ban such unhealthy traditions and customs. Are you scared of losing your own vote bank?

LET US BUILD PROUD GREAT INDIA, WHERE WE ALL WILL BE EQUAL

Social evil is still evil, irrespective of religion. Can you please tell us, what is the difference between Islam and Muslim.
Triple talak is social evil and wrongly used. Women suffer the most.

    Madam Bharathi Shetty,

You should have advised your caste girls to refuse marrying a man who demands a dowry in Kilograms of gold. When you teach this to girls, they live in humility, without craving for equality. They stay at home waiting for their husband to return. When girls get themselves educated up-to even Phd. (at their parents' expense), they will obviously command equality with their husband because the very man who married her orders her that she earns according to her education to keep his social status intact.

Well, if you don't want your community to lag behind and wish to encourage girls to study and help the nation's economy, you got to put up with a little 'nakhra' they do. Men(husbands) do put up with this so I am sure it shouldn't be a problem to you.

So, night pubs is the only problem that troubles the society as per you, Suman ??

What about ladies lingering in women's clubs exhibiting posh saries and jewelry ? Do you think they came there after attending to all needs of their family members ? Look lady, the lifestyle is how we keep it. If we live our life as per present trend, I am sure Ms. Bharati Shetty is not going to like it. And the day she questions you, I am sure you too are going to ask her back if she is giving money for your expenses.

The BJP is very much worried about divorced 'Muslim' women and wants to ensure equality through 'Triple talaq' bill to communalize majority vote bank by sending her husband to jail and her children die without food.
In Sabarimala, BJP doesn't want Hindu women of menstruating age to enter a temple by contempt of Supreme Court.
This is the reason BJP doesn't want The Women's Reservation Bill [The Constitution (108th Amendment) Bill] is one of the longest pending legislation in the Indian Parliament.

India has been named the most dangerous country in the world for women in a recent Thomson Reuters Foundation survey. India outranked such countries as Syria and Afghanistan — second and third — that are currently at war.

Rising Number of Crimes Against Women Reflects Decay in India's Institutions. Incidents of rape (and other crimes against women) have risen sharply over the last few years. The latest National Crime Records Bureau data reflect how incidents of rapes have gone up by 12-15%, while other crimes have risen by 3-5%.
In recent years, the majority of cases categorised as crimes against women were reported under ‘cruelty by husband or his relatives’ (32.6%), followed by ‘assault on woman with intent to outrage her modesty’ (25%), ‘kidnapping and abduction of woman’ (19%) and ‘rape’ (11.5%). The highest number of rapes have been reported from the states of Madhya Pradesh (4,882), Uttar Pradesh (4,816) and Maharashtra (4,189).

Why this State BJP Mahila Morcha president won't speak about the rising crime against women of India?
Does this mean women of India remain confined to the kitchen and caring children?
