Chamarajanagar, Feb 13: The victims of prasada poison tragedy that occurred at the Kicchaguthu Maramma temple of Sulvadi village under Hanoor taluk of the district have recovered and reached their respective homes now.

As the government has not borne the medical treatment bills of the affected people, who were treated in 12 different hospitals of Mysuru, they have submitted the bills of Rs 1.27 crore to the district administration and appealed to pay the amount.

In the tragedy that occurred on December 14, 2018 in the said temple, many devotees were affected due to the poison that was mixed with the prasada of the temple. They were immediately admitted to 12 hospitals of Mysuru including JSS hospital, Narayana Hridayalaya, Apollo hospital, Gopalgowda hospital, Suyog hospital, Banavi hospital, Brindavan hospital, Kaveri hospital and Columbia - Asia hospital.

The state government had promised to pay the medical bill of the victims of the tragedy. Accordingly the hospitals have submitted the bills to the district administration. The district administration has sent the bills to the state government. The state government has asked the district administration to speak to the hospitals and reduce the amount of the bills as the state government is not able to bear the huge amount.

It is learnt that the district administration is planning to have a discussion with all the hospitals to reduce the amount mentioned in their respective bills.
