Mangaluru, Feb 13: The ‘Hore Kanike’ (donation in kind) procession that was inaugurated at Nehru Maidan on Wednesday marked the beginning of the Bhramakalashostava celebrations of Kudroli Shri Gokarnanatheshwara temple.

The colorful offertory procession witnessed more than 800 vehicles and participation of many faithful and comprised of offertory items donated by various donors of the city to be used for the noon meals that will be served on all the Bhramakalashostava days as well as on February 17.

Janardhana Poojary, former union minister broke the coconut and offered prayers to Gokarnanatheshwara at Nehru Maidan and gave start for the procession.

Flagging off the procession, Janardhan Poojary said, “It is blissful moment and the devotees gathered here prove how much they love Kudroli temple. With their offerings they are directly involved in the celebrations of temple and its functioning. The history of temple says humanity and equality is always highlighted at Kudroli. By humanity one can reach God and experience his divinity."

Bhaskar Moily, mayor, Raghavendra Kuloor, vice president, Madhava Suvarna, secretary, Padmaraj, Ravishankar Mijar, B K Tharnath and other trustees and committee members were present.
