Mangalore pub attack: Karnataka CM to discuss Ram Sena ban with cabinet

Press Trust of India

BANGALORE, Jan 29: Making it clear that his government will not allow people to take the law into their hands, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has
said he will discuss the issue of banning Sri Ram Sene, the outfit accused in the pub attack case, in the state cabinet.

"We will discuss it with the police officers and I will discuss it with the cabinet," he told NDTV while replying to a question on the issue of banning the outfit.

"Anyhow, we are not going to allow such incidents to happen again in the state. Nobody should take law into their hands and it is a very unfortunate incident. That is why I have taken immediate action and the situation is under control," he said.

Noting that so far the state authorities have arrested 33 people including Sene chief Pramod Muthalik, Yeddyurappa said, "From the government's side, we have taken action and we will take strong action against anti-social elements irrespective of their religious or political affiliations.

"Sri Rama Sene has no connection with BJP or any other political party. That's an individual organisation," the Chief Minister said.

All, dont get carried away by the statement of this CM. He wouldnt have meant what he has said. He will not do what he has said. It is a eye wash indeed. Only upon the pressure of people and media he may ban it. People and Media tend to forget this things and move on. They will again elect the same rubbish parties. What happened to the people who attacked the churches? Nothing.. Even this will fade away..... The public same as ever... At least let the Media take some responsibility in bring the things of past to light today!

These Ministers promise a lot before the election, once they are elected they forget what they had promised. Now y'day this CM on Times Now says "We should not encourage club culture" When these oldies were young didnt they go to the clubs? and going to the club, dancing what is bad in that?

Girls/women know to take care of themselves, and they dont go alone. are we in the 21st century or going backwards? When Congress govt. was ruling nothing of this sort used to happen, now chose the wrong party and the result is in front of us. I hope everyone open their eyes.

It's not the question of banning an organisation. It's the duty of Govt., Police to see that Law & Order is maintained. We don't want unauthorised people to take Law into their hands & beat the people. Govt., Police should have the courage to punish the wrong doers. This is only a begining, if it is not controlled, disciplined now it will be head ache for the Govt. later. Local Administration & Police should do thier duties honestly.

So many photographers in the pub incident ready to shoot live coverage. I just wonder who gave them information well in advance so that they can be ready at the crucial time. The question is why dint they tip off the police well in advance so that girls could have been saved from these thugs? I feel that as a citizen the moment we come to know that something is cooking up, we have to alert the police. Prevention should be the first motto...what does the law say about the people who know about a crime which is about to happen but keeps quite?

Mr. Chief Minister, You say that the Sri Rama Sene has absolutely no connection with the BJP. So what's stopping you and your Cabinet from banning this outfit? For you, which comes first, the Sri Rama Sene or the law and order situation in the state? Please examine your concience and act accordingly but don't make vague statements.

Drug, western/ pub culture is distroying youth of the country. Full impact of this culture is felt only in the long run when situation goes out control and irreperable. Materialism and greed for happiness is leading to the down fall of western countries. Crores of sleeping tablet sold in america depict meterial well being of the people there. Some moral policing by Govt. is necessary.

Dear Mr. Yeddyurappa, I remember very well your famous dialogue “Yaare aagli avarannu naavu goonda kayedeyalli bandhistheve. After uttering this proverb through out Karnataka several incidents were occurred. Pub attack was a small incident as per Mr. Krishna Palemar and Mr. Acharya.

There were several small, small incidents occurred which are not taken care by government and law enforcement. This Chief Minister is using gooonda kyede only for Christians and Muslims. The associates of bjp are moving around with microscope to catch even a smallest error of minorities to book under Goonda kayede.

Merlapadav Teacher James was badly attacked anybody booked under Goonda Kayede? Banning of Rama Sena only will not fetch results. All those Rama Sena leaders and their men servants must arrest and interrogate them of all their wrong doings. The truth should come out.

"We are not going to allow such incidents in future" - CM Sounds funny - He always says this. This is a disease contracted by politicians to lie in public. His words have meaning if Rama Sene and Bajarnaga Dal culprits are meted capital punishment and also banning them forever from India. Let them go to Afghanistan where they can freely enforce their constitution!
