Mangaluru, Feb 16: Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop Emeritus blessed the new chapel and premises of ‘White Doves Psychiatric Nursing and Destitute Home’ situated at Niddel, Gokarna Road on Saturday, February 16.
After blessing of altar of the new chapel, he celebrated the holy mass along with Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, former Vicar General, Mangaluru Diocese, Fr Pius James D'Souza, Carmelite Province, and priests from various congregations.
In his homily, Fr Frankline D'Souza, Catholic charismatic preacher and National Youth Director said “White Doves is another name for Gods love. Through Corrine Rasquinha and her family God pours his blessings on destitutes and poor. He inspires the donors to help Corrine and her team. It is a place of miracles and blessings. Corrine experienced Gods love when she was went into coma due to serious health issues. But when God planned to do miracles through her, she came back to life from the jaws of death. This inspired her, and later she completely dedicated herself to social life. She is the role model for all of us. By her service, the church will be getting a new strength. The love of God, which Jesus taught us spreads automatically.”
After the mass, Bishop Emeritus said, “I congratulate Corrine and her team for the new building. Twenty-five years of dedicated service to humanity will culminate in the long-cherished dream of the founder, Corrine Rasquinha, and White Doves. At the same time, I congratulate the donors, who become a part of this in various forms. It is not easy to construct a building to destitutes that costs crores of rupees. But it is completed only by the determination of Corrine. I am happy to join with White Doves at this joyful moment.”
Fr Malcom, Chaplain, received the key of sepulcher from the Bishop.
Leslie Fernandes, Australia, J R Lobo, former MLA, Donors and Well-wishers were present in large numbers.
Corrine Rasquinha thanked the priests and gathering on the occasion.
The official inaugural ceremony of ‘White Doves Psychiatric Nursing and Destitute Home’, a 200-bed facility for the destitute from White Doves, will be inaugurated on Sunday, February 17.
