Bangalore, Feb 4: BJP spokesman and ex-union minister Dhananjay Kumar alleged in a press conference held here on Tuesday February 3, that the Congress has been abetting Sri Rama Sena to indulge in disruptive activities. This is being done with the specific intention of maligning the state government and reap political benefits thereof, he charged.
"The BJP does not have anything to do with Sri Rama Sena. The Mangalore pub attack is an example for the Congress tactics," he added. Urging the police department to institute an inquiry into the relationship between the Congress and Sri Rama Sena, he clarified that the rumours about the central government seeking the state's report on the pub attack were false. The members of the National Women’s Commission visited Mangalore without bringing it to the notice of the state government, he explained.
Congress working president D K Shivkumar has vehemently opposed the student awareness campaign against terrorism, launched by the government. This is unfortunate and anti-people, he said. The Congress had declared its intention to organize protest programmes in front of colleges against holding these programmes. This is an attempt by the Congress party to disturb the law and order situation in the state, he felt. Dhananjay also charged the Congress party of trying to rake up this issue to reap political benefit, as that party is suffering from the ideological bankruptcy among its leadership.
