Mangaluru: Unique twitter campaign for BJP's Satyajith Surathkal seeking Lok Sabha ticket

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Feb 24: To ensure BJP leader Satyajith Surathkal gets ticket from Dakshina Kannada constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, his supporters have come up with a unique idea.

On Monday, February 25 at 10 am, Satyajith’s supporters will tweet BJP national chief Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP state chief BS Yeddyurappa and BJP national general secretary BL Santosh to give ticket to Satyajith Surathkal.

A whatsapp message that is doing rounds asks people to pledge their support and partake in the twitter campaign. The message asks people to use #SatyajithForDK #WeStandWithSatyajithSuratkal and tag the official twitter accounts of BJP leaders.

Satyajit was one of the ticket aspirants for the assembly elections and everyone expected BJP will launch him from Mangaluru North constituency. However, he failed to get a ticket. Known to be one of the Hindutva icons of the district, his supporters want to make sure that this time their voice is heard.

This move comes after Amit Shah’s meeting in Bengaluru recently, where he said he will consider a candidates popularity before issuing tickets.

Now with this Twitter campaign, Mangalore Unit of BJP seems to be giving early retirement for sitting MP Nalin Kumar.
The BJP and Twitter are at loggerhead and its 'Bhakta' recently protested in Delhi. BJP MP and the head of the parliamentary panel on Information Technology, Anurag Thakur, warned Twitter of action after its executives refused to appear before the committee.
The development assumes significance in light of right-wing brigade in India, mostly supporters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, holding protests against Twitter for its alleged biases against them. A group of BJP supporters had staged a protest march earlier this month to make their displeasure known on the topic. However, they faced social media ridicule for using Twitter to vent their frustration against the social media platform.
These Modi Bhakta who protested and threatened to delete accounts are now forced to surrender 'Digital America'.

If educated persons get elected to Parliament, language may get included in 8th schedule.. however a language cannot be included in 8th schedule just to facilitate a couple of illiterate MPs who do not know any other language than mothertongue...
