Uttarakhand Minister accused of abusing policemen


Dehradun, Mar 26 (IANS): Uttarakhand Education Minister Arvind Pandey was on Tuesday at the centre of a controversy after he allegedly abused policemen, who had seized some vehicles of mining businessmen in Kashipur area of Kumaon region, locals said.

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, said top police officials.

The seizure of vehicles took place in Kashipur town of Udham Singh Nagar district.

On hearing this, Pandey along with his supporters reached Kundeshwari police post in Kashipur where he allegedly abused post incharge Arjun Giri and other policemen.

Giri reportedly closed the door of his room to escape the wrath of the Minister.
