New Delhi, Apr 4 (IANS): The CBI and a joint vigilance team of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Central Public Works Department (CPWD) conducted a "surprise check" at the house of industrialist Hari Shankar Bhartia for unauthorized construction, the CBI said on Thursday.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the joint vigilance team conducted the inspection at Bhartia's Amrita Shergill Marg residence in the heart of Delhi on Wednesday following "specific inputs", an official said.
"It was just a surprise check for the verification of the input against him of doing some unauthorized construction. The exercise was to ascertain whether the allegation deserves any investigation or not," the CBI official told IANS.
Bhartia is the founder and co-chairman of Jubilant Bhartia Group. He is a former President of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
